Saturday arrived and unlike August we had a rain free sunny day, with a wind that kept the temperature down and at times was a 1 club wind. I think there may be new owners at Royal Island as they have renovated the restaurant, opened the driving range and tinkering elsewhere. The course was in good condition and even the bunkers seemed better than the last time I played there.
Rob King said he thought Royal Island was a hard course compared to many of the others and I would agree although the slope rating is lower than the others!! The scoring was in general fairly close with 5 points covering everyone except our winner. Dave Shoesmith came second with 29 points but way out in front with 35 points the very man who thought it was a hard course, Rob King! Well played!
Next month, 18 October, we are playing Harmonie, a course I think is easier but actually has a higher slope rating! We are teeing off at 12 and the price is 3,200,000 vnd and includes lunch. The coach will leave from Phattys at 9.30! Please let me know if you are playing and coming on the coach.
