Saturday arrived sunny and hot and the trip there wasn't too bad. We didn't get any rain but with a slight wind it wasn't unbearably hot. The course was in good condition and the greens were very true and a nice pace.
We started on the 10th, one of the hardest holes on the course, and for a change the hole on the 16th par 3 with the 100 yard green was cut right at the back!! The scoring in general was pretty good and we had 2 tied for 2nd with 31 points, Martin Groen and Rob King, his best performance for a while after a string of very poor rounds. But in 1st with 34 points and apparently 2 birdies and several pars, having played with him previously, not sure where they came from!! Well played Shaun Millard.
Next month, 20 June, we are playing Long Thanh, the Hill course, it has been 4 years since SLAGS last played the Hill course, so a rare event indeed! We are booked in for 12 noon start and the cost is 3,500,000 vnd which includes a buffet lunch. So the coach will leave Phattys at 9.30. Please confirm if you are playing and coming on the coach. I am hoping for a big turn out as it has been a long time since we played this course.
